Eloisa Francia

Eloisa T. Francia is a Toronto-based screenwriter, film and television producer, poet, performance artist, and translator. Born in the Philippines and now based in Canada, her work navigates themes of migration, identity, and cultural memory, bridging the experiences of Filipino and diasporic communities through storytelling.

Eloisa is an active member of several arts and cultural organizations, contributing to the advancement of independent cinema, poetry, and media advocacy in the Philippines and Canada. She is affiliated with the Poetry is Our Second Language collective, LIKHA Filipino Cultural Hub, Linangan sa Imahen, Retorika, at Anyo (LIRA, a traditional Filipino poetry organization), the Screenwriters’ Guild of the Philippines, the Film Development Council of the Philippines, and the National Book Development Board of the Philippines.

For Eloisa, storytelling is a means of documentation, resistance, and connection. Whether through film, poetry, or advocacy, her work amplifies voices, preserves narratives, and contributes to conversations on cultural identity, social change, and the evolving Filipino-Canadian experience.
