R. C. Perez is a Filipino-Canadian poet and high school teacher. He lives and works between Toronto and the Cree nation of Fort Albany in Northern Ontario. He is a self-published author of two poetry collections, Magic of the Modest and The Unmistakable Possibility of Us. With a style centred around simplicity and straightforward language, Perez seeks to explore and understand the complexities of human emotions, particularly of connection, love, loss, and longing.

When not writing, he spends his time coaching volleyball or exploring the Great Canadian North. Currently, he is writing a Tagalog YA novel that uses a hybrid narrative form of prose and screenplay.
